In 1964 Bob joined the water treatment industry while living in Ohio. He sold equipment there for 3 years then decided to become a Texan.

1967 he moved to Texas and became the regional industrial engineer for a national water treatment company. He sold industrial water treatment equipment in 10 states and also internationally.

1969 he was tired of traveling and joined a dealer in the DFW area.
1975 After making quite a reputation for himself as a commercial and residential water treatment specialist, he chose to start his own company. He wanted to provide a higher quality of service for his existing metroplex customers and formed Shelton’s Water Refining in Arlington.
